Winters are cold and generally with intense snowfall in the mountains with average January temperatures of -5 °C in the ski resorts and up to – 20 °C on the high peaks. Winter time weather in Bansko offer amazing conditions for skiing and snowboarding. The snow blanket lasts from December to April. Average daily temperatures throughout the year are 9.1 °C and the mean summer temperatures vary from 14 °C to 19 °C and are ideal for rest and escape from the otherwise boiling temperatures in the rest of the county.
