Reviews about hotels in Bansko

KEMPINSKI HOTEL GRAND ARENA
Mary O’Reiley, Ireland

We actually stayed at this hotel during the spring time- I think it was towards the end of May. Everyone in Bansko said that the winter hadn’t been too severe, so there was very little snow left and only at the highest peaks. We enjoyed the luxury of the hotel and the service really was faultless. Plenty of things to keep you occupied- massages, indoor pool, good restaurants. Most people don’t really realize, that Bansko is actually wonderful during other times of year as well. I guess it got a name as a ski resort, but it’s an actual town, so it never really ‘closes down’. We had a non- smoking room with a mountain view and the linens and towels were crisp and clean every day. Wonderful hiking paths around Bansko, we were out and about most of the time.

BELMONT APARTHOTEL
Ross Walker, UK

Chose this hotel because of how incredibly close it is to ski lifts. I’m an avid skier, and have been to many world- class ski resorts and some really good hotels, so I was very pleasantly surprised by the amenities in Bansko and the skiing facilities and by the class of the hotel itself. The runs were well maintained although we did have to wait for a while to get on the Gondola (fair enough, we were there in peak season).
Room was great. Many channels, very modern design and the best part is that the apartments have their own kitchen, so you can actually prepare yourself snacks if you don’t feel like going out.  I will most likely return to Bansko again.

REDENKA CHALETS
Peter Wilheim, Austria

A small group of me and my friends visited Bansko for in order to see what it was like and to do some golfing. That is why we chose to stay at the Redenka chalets. We found the accommodation quite comfortable and the golf course was really only some 10 minutes away. Although the complex is large, we all found it pretty tranquil and managed to relax and enjoy our free time. The chalets are completely furnished- even the kitchens are all sorted out, but I don’t think any of us used them. We took taxis and went down to the Pamporovo centre every night. Good bars, good food, good golfing.

The staff at the hotel was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I found the Bulgarian people to be very hospitable and friendly in general. Our children had gone to Bansko a couple of years ago and we were a bit apprehensive about visiting because we weren’t sure if their positive experience was much of a criteria (we like quieter places). But we enjoyed it quite a bit. The ski runs we only visited twice and absolutely loved the architecture of the Bansko old town. Unfortunately the weather was extremely cold; otherwise we probably would have visited even more. This particular hotel was right next to the Gondola lifts, so I imagine people who come mainly for the skiing will certainly appreciate it. Good range of facilities, clean rooms and good food at the hotel.

PARK HOTEL GARDENIA
Julie MacAfee

I was a bit disappointed before we arrived because my boyfriend and the other couple we were with picked the hotel and when I had a closer look, it didn’t seem like it was very close to the lifts and the ski runs. But once we arrived in Bansko, I found the distances quite short and the town quite small so it wasn’t a problem at all (even though there were closer hotels than the one they’ve chosen). What I really like about this hotel, though, is the fact that because it is a bit off the hub, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. Our room had stunning views and it seemed like we were totally surrounded by trees and nature – almost a kind of mid forest cabin type of feeling. I think we all agreed that we’d all go back and visit Bansko again. Had a really good time. Plenty of things to do at night- loved the Bulgarian food and the alcohol was super cheap.
